Vintage Attire
The Dress Code for The Savoy Ball is "Vintage
- or Black Tie/Evening Dress". Basically this means "please
make an effort" - it really does help make the evening very special!
From Vintage ball gowns, top hat and tails, full Zoot Suits to period civilian
clothes or allied uniforms, through to modern Dinner Jackets and evening dress
- all styles and tastes are usually represented - and most welcome. We are not looking for "fancy dress" - we are looking for an authentic, period look alongside a contemporary smart look for those who don't have or would rather not go for vintage. If you don't think "vintage", please think "Sunday best"!
Denim, t-shirts and trainers are strictly off-limits and will be refused admission
London has a range of outlets supplying period clothes, and there are many on-line resources too - there are some suggestions below. Recent contemporary high-street fashion has been very much influenced by the 1920s, 1930s, 40s and 50s so you might well find something appropriate in your local store.
Vintage Stalls
Look out for the vintage stalls at the ball, selling vintage and reproduction
accessories, shoes, trinkets, hats and more - great fun to browse or pick
up that something you've been searching for!Information on this year's stalls will be posted here as it comes in!
If you'd be interested in running a vintage or accessory stall at The Savoy Ball, please call Martin on 07956 952090 to discuss - thanks!
